The Big Green Event

(in the school hall)
Chidham and Hambrook Sustainability Network combined with Chidham School to put on the Big Green Event.
Firstly the children put on a splendid fashion show of garments created from all sorts of materials that might otherwise be thrown away. Then Hazel Bradley told a story from the native people of Australia about the importance of looking after our environment, and the sadness when we lose some species.
During the interval, people were able to have refreshments, and see displays of information about Fair Trade, Energy saving (Chichester District Council), Tuppenny Barn Organics, Chichester Solar, Chidham School, Maybush Copse , Chichester Harbour Conservancy, Chichester Harbour Trust, and The Village News,
After the break, we had three speakers - Ruth Valerio Tom Broughton and Andy Collenette on different aspects of sustainable living and then there was an open forum. Questionnaires were completed and handed in.
Thanks to Sarah Foye for the Fashion Shoot
Thanks to Matt Chesshire, Louise MacDonald, Mrs Lambert, Gary Parkes at all at Chidham School who helped with the event, and to the children and parents. Thanks also to our Speakers, Ruth Valerio, Tom Broughton and Andy Collenette.
