Lyra at Chidham - April 25th 2008

St Mary's was packed for this 'Friends of Chidham Churches Concert. The programme included works by Handel, Massenet and Rossini, as well as Rachmaninov, Degtjarev and Ippolitov-Ivanov
The musicians were
Natalia Andreeva – soprano,
Zlata Gogol – mezzo soprano,
Andrey Sysoev – tenor and leader
During the interval, refreshments were served. Our thanks to Delph Archer, Pam Kennedy, Marlene Whalen, Joyce Woods and Nita Fielder for the food.
The second half had the musicians in costume for a variety of Russian folk songs ending with the famous 'Kalinka'
Our best wishes to Roman Nikitin, baritone, who broke his leg, and thus was not able to come to Chidham. We wish him a speedy recovery.
