| Saturday May 12th Mexican Youth Group Chilli evening (Gazza's Mexican Cantina - it was steaming!) to raise funds for the planned trip to Beer. An excellent evening - brilliant food thanks to Gary and Carol Vigor, and everybody entered into the spirit of it. I was told how much had been raised, but I have forgotten. I blame the Tequila. | |
| Chili targets a specific pain receptor in mammals. Birds do not have this sensitivity and so can happily eat chilis and subsequently distribute the seeds over a wide area.
Farmers in Africa and South Asia have found the use of chilis effective in crop defense against elephants.
Chili is an effective in the management of arthritis, and headaches. Presumably based on the thinking that you stop worrying about a splinter in your finger if you hit it with a hammer. (Please don't try this, just take my word for it.) In 2009, Mexican scientists discovered a method to produce tiny synthetic diamonds from 80-proof (40% alcohol) tequila. (Or that is what the chemists claimed on the materials requisition form. Salud!) |
