The 2011 PTFA / Website Duck Race
Easter Monday April 25th and the weather for the Annual PTFA / Website Duck race was 'Pimms' and the May was in blossom. Last year with Easter three weeks earlier, it was mulled wine, and blossom was in short supply.
The water course was suffering from the heat and so were the spectators. The stream required much damming to ensure enough water to conduct the race. I am glad to say no blasting was necessary, Mitch and his shovel did the trick. We poured Pimms into the spectators, but fortunately someone got a couple of hosepipes to ease the difficult track conditions.
Some great decorated ducks - I especially liked the spit roast duck. Excellent bonnets, and great fun had by all.
Rumour has it that the Old House at Home won the Corporate Duck race. Last year it was The Barleycorn. What is it with these Pubs?
