Ferry-On the ferry we had an unexpected surprise. Mitch arranged for us to go and see the bridge, we saw the radar and got our photos taken on the captains chair. It was brilliant. No one else did. |
We went on swan boats and saw some baby ducks, geese and swans. We could stay as long as we wanted. It was really fun. |
| The day we arrived on the Isle of wight we went to the beach. It was really fun and we got wet in the sea. |
On the beach we played a big game of French cricket it was very fun then we played normal cricket. |
The Isle of Wight was fantastic for everyone. Once we arrived we went to the beach in Ryde. Some of us built sandcastles, some of us went into the sea and the boys played golf. We then went on some cool swan peddle boats in a large pond by the sea. Overall we had a great day. |
The Isle of Wight has been a great trip for all of the youth group. The money we raised at the cake sale bought us delicious ice creams at the beach. We also made a small trip to the pedalo boats on a small lake where there were lots of swans, ducks and tiny white ducklings. |
On Saturday we went on a pedalo which are big plastic duck boats with a steering wheel. |
My favourite bit was going on the bridge and seeing the man drive. |
On Saturday we went on some san peddle boats, they were really fun and we took it in turns to peddle. These were boats that could seat four people and ones that can seat two. Most people had very tired legs by the end. The pond we went on them in was lovely and there were some baby ducklings. |
Today we played golf it was very fun but also quite eventful. We got Chris's ball taken by a dog and a man decided to pick up one of our balls and place it on the green. We also hit the balls into the ruff which took some time to find. |
Yesterday we played at Appley pitch and put. It was a 9 hole course. It was really funny when Chris was going to play his shot a dog took the ball and ran away with it. Tom didn't have a good game at points hitting the ball in a different direction. At the last hole Chris nearly hit a car. It was close at the end. Tom came last! Then Chris, than Steve and I and in first was Gary. It was a great game! |
We played golf yesterday at Appley pitch and put. It was really fun. I hit the ball really far on the first hole and it cleared the green, but luckily a nice fellow picked up my ball and threw it on the green, but then a little dog came along and picked up my ball and moved it off the green. In the end Gary won and we gave him a little trophy made of a golf ball and a tee. |
On Saturday we arrived at the Isle of wight. We spent the whole day at Ryde beach. Most of the time we were sun bathing! We then went on some peddle boats. The next day we went swimming, shopping and we went to the needles. Thank you so much for raising so much money so the youth group could have a lovely time once again! |
Father David came with us on the Saturday. He sat on the beach in the sun in a nice comfortable chair so he could watch us build castles, play cricket and for those with no nervous system-paddle deeper than our rolled up trousers!! Opps…slightly damp! We then took him back to catch the fast cat so he could catch the train home ready for the Saturday service. Thank you for soming with us and especially for the ice creams. |
We arrived at the youth hostel last Saturday. Me, Imogen, Anna and Beth were in one room. We really liked our room, the breakfast and tea's were lovely. |
Today were ment to go to robin Hill but it was raining so we couldn't. So we went to Carrisbrook castle and then after that we went swimming. At the swimming pool we dived of the diving board and played in the pool. |
We went to Carisbrook castle and we put on some chain male, which was really heavy. I nearly fell over. We saw a donkey walk round the big wheel and bring a bucket of water up from a deep well. |
Last Saturday we went to freshwater swimming pool In freshwater. There were two diving boards and a mini pool. Edward and Abby were amazing at diving and impressed everyone. |
This weekend I enjoyed going to the beach and swimming pool. |
On Sunday after swimming we went to Alan Bay. First we all had to walk down to the beach where we could see all the different colour sands. |
In the talent show we had ben, Chris and Thomas doing a Mia song and completely embarrassed themselves. Where as Luke, Aiden, ben, Matthew, Joe and Gary doing Jack and the Beanstalk. The older girls did Cinderella and the younger girls did goldilocks' it was really good fun. |
On the last night we displayed our talent show. Our room showed Wizard of Oz. The other rooms did Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Mamma Mia, snow white and The 3 Bears. In our play Kiera was Toto, I was the scarecrow, Holly was Dorothy and Alina was the good witch of the north and the tin Man. Georgia was the Lion. |
On the second night we displayed our talent show. Our room showed Wizard of Oz. The other rooms varied between films, eg Mamma Mia, 3 bears, snow white, wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Jack and the beanstalk and lots more. |
Today we went to Allum Bay. First we walked 180 steps and back up. Next we went to the sand shape making. Where we made a sand sculpture. |
Firstly we all sang Abraham then we all got some yummy pop corn. After, the first group got set up for their story. The first group was Joe, Aiden, Matthew, Ben, Luke, Gary, They did Jack and the Beanstalk. Next was the little girls room (Anna, Lucy, Beth and Imogen). They did Goldilocks and the three bears. Following after was the older boys (Chris, Ben and Tom). They did Gimme Gimme Gimme from Mamma Mia (look on you tube). Then we had a half time. |

| On Monday after breakfast we packed our bags and cleared our rooms….some better than others! We went to Ryde to 2 souvenir shops and spent the last of our money. With not enough time for a fair ride we had more ice cream…well you can never have enough can you? Then back to the ferry…where our adventures continued. After some debate over what lane we should all be in we drove onto the ferry….just to discover Karen and her car load were missing! They got on the next one and we were all quickly reunited. We arrived back at St. Wilfred's with much noise due to each car having music on full blast and the windows down. We hope all the leaders hearing have now recovered from a weekend of loud music, varying from Mamma Mia to heavy rock! |
