An excellent and well supported event organised by Maggie Haynes for the Chidham and Hambrook Sustainability Network, with a lot of help from Carla Allen and many others, in aid of the Chidham School Organic Gardening project.
This was a local craft & food producers event to
highlight what is available to local people as well as others from
outside the village. Stalls included Tuppeny Barn Organic fruit and veg, Paul Barnett Trees with a wide variety of apples, 'Woolly Wonders' - with knitted items made from Cobnor sheep wool. a Fair trade stand, some of the children from the school
had a
stall with homemade jams, chutneys etc. There were hand made jewelery and clothes stands, a 'seed swap' table, and Chidmere Apple Juice for sale.
Chidham & Hambrook Sustainability Group had a table, and Chidham and Hambrook Website were selling the 2008 Chidham and Hambrook Calendar. The District Council had an 'energy efficiency' table and Sticky Fingers were selling tempting cakes.
Carla Allen and helpers did lunches and refreshments, and outside there was a banner with the new Chidham and Hambrook Sustainability Logo on display and the biggest pumpkin you ever saw!
