The Chidham and Hambrook 2008 Village Calendar
A limited edition.

A Village Calendar for 2008 : Please send in your photos for possible use in the Chidham and Hambrook 2008 calendar to the Postmaster.
Deadline for your photos is the September 30th

Ideally pictures will be digital, and will have been taken in Chidham or Hambrook, and show something of the local life, community, landscape, environment etc..... It's always rather subjective as to what makes a good photo, but since the photos will be used in larger than normal format, a high level of pixels can be an advantage. Because space in the Calendar is naturally limited, we will have to make a selection of the best photos, and not all contributed photos can be used.
The Calendar is being produced by the Chidham and Hambrook website association, and copies will be available for purchase - more details to follow.

Stephen Johnson (right) wondering if he has got his graph the right way up.

Summary of meeting - Steve Clark welcomed members and outlined activities and matters covered by the website over the last year - Nutbourne Fun Day, the Cricket Match, Chichester Gala Parade, and the Parrot story to name a few, and looked forward to activities in the coming year. In particular he thanked those who had contributed stories or photos to the site. Mandy Rogers reported the financial situation and Stephen Johnson commented on the vagaries of the website usage statistics. Steve Clark, Mitch Woods and Mandy Rodgers were re-elected Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Members voted to leave the voluntary membership subscription unchanged at £5. Plans for the future include closer involvement with the School, a Pictorial Calendar, a Football Match, more Cricket, a Webcam and a Duck race.

The Website Christmas Party - Dec 13th in the Barleycorn
A bit like the 60's if you can remember it, you probably weren't there! Most pics were blurred, but these few give a flavour. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as me. Thanks to everyone for turning out and the great support and fun you have all been this year.

Nutbourne Station Centenary Fun Day (photos)

The whole event was a great success as a result of the tremendous support from across the community, and funds were raised for several village organisations that participated in the Event.

The overall income, before deduction of costs, was £1345

Costs were defrayed by generous donations and help and backing from businesses, individuals and the Parish Council. In particular, special thanks to Marshalls plc who gave us such magnificent support.

Some of the takings were directly related to particular organisations, but the raffle, beer tent, Chidham WI tent and Bouncy Castle were considered as common events and the proceeds shared out equally to the School (PTFA and School funds), the Church (Youth Group and Sunday Club), the Chidham WI, and the Chidham and Hambrook Website association.

Overall net funds raised were

School (PTFA and School) £ 497
Church (Youth Group and Sunday Club) £ 171
C and H Website Association £ 282
Chidham WI £ 112

Total £1063

Thanks to everyone who came, or supported the event, and to all those who worked so hard to make it a success.
