This page focuses on those Action Points that are particularly targeted at present. See the Progress Summary for details on progress to date on each of the Action Points.
The Parish Council should encourage a single Parish Magazine and linked Website .
As you can see, the overarching Website is up and running. Many village organisations are involved in the site and the intention is that it will be a first point of call for news and other information about Hambrook, Chidham and Nutbourne.
The site is under continual development and suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Please provide feedback to help the website team.
ACTION POINT 24. VOLUNTARY GROUPS - Mobility
The Parish Council should support the identification and formation of appropriate voluntary groups to serve the community. These groups should include one that offers support and/or transport for people with mobility problems.
ACTION POINT 25. VOLUNTARY GROUPS - Social
The Parish Council should determine the extent of the demand for voluntary groups such as Mother and Toddler, After-School, Youth and Senior Citizen groups. We recommend that the Parish Council then support the formation of appropriate groups.
The Parish Council should support the formation of a voluntary group to take appropriate action on environmental projects within the parish.
The first task is to identify individuals who would be willing to volunteer to help in the parish. To date, 32 people have completed the Volunteer Sheet (see Volunteer page) giving information on the way(s) in which they would consider helping. Everybody is busy, so the Sheet has a space in which you can specify the maximum amount of time per week/month/year you could spare on village activities.
The Parish Council should publish as soon as possible a Parish Directory. This should contain parish information such as the names and contact details of local clubs, societies, facilities, organisations, producers, suppliers, businesses, tradesmen and also details of current projects and initiatives.
The Parish Council intends to publish the first edition of the Parish Directory quite soon. Hard copies will be distributed free to every household in the parish and an online version will also be posted on this website. Both the online and the hard copy versions will be updated as frequently as possible.
The Directory will offer FREE inserts to individuals and organisations. Please visit the Directory page and complete a Directory Insert Sheet. As you can see from the Action Point above, the range of entries is very wide and the Directory will be a very useful source of information.
